NVQ Level 3 Communication Technologies for ProfessionalsWho is the qualification for?The qualification is suitable for those working within a variety of telecommunications, IT and Contact Centre sectors. A key feature of this NVQ is the flexibility to customize training to meet your specific needs and to adapt the qualification to meet individual skills levels. You will need to be employed and working at a supervisory or technician level. The qualification will be assessed at your work place while you are on program. The course is targeted to CT professionals and technicians working with IT systems and equipment. With these qualifications you could, for example, work as an engineer (network, software and hardware), or in cabling or fault finding and repair. What are the entry requirements?There are no entry requirements or age restrictions for the qualification. It is open to any candidate who has the potential to meet the requirements of the qualification. How is the course assessed?The course is assessed for practical ability and underpinning knowledge. Observations assessing practical application take place in our own (simulation) workshop. Or you can be assessed at your place of work. How does this qualification improve my career prospects?By providing a nationally recognized qualification in specialist communication technology; allowing work opportunities as an engineer (network, software and hardware), or in cabling or fault finding and repair. Where can this qualification lead me?Candidates can progress onto the Levels 4 NVQs for Communication Technology Professionals. Candidates can also develop further in related sectors such as Contact Centers and IT because of the fundamental relationships built into the standards and structures. The candidate needs to complete the required number of units, which are available at three levels. It is possible that you could mix units from different levels in any one qualification. Each NVQ must contain the unit: Develop Personal and Organisational Effectiveness at least at Level 3 and Health and Safety in ICT and Contact Centers at least at Level 1. The particular circumstances of the candidate and employer may cause them to draw upon other units at higher or lower levels in order to achieve the qualification. To be awarded a full NVQ Level 3, candidates must achieve a minimum of 180 unit credits. Mandatory Units:

How long will it take?The qualification usually takes between 3 to 6 months to complete. This will be agreed by you with your assessor, to meet your individual requirements. Download |
